about me
Ray Morrison is a doctoral researcher at the University of Sheffield, funded by the ESRC. Their research uses quantitative methods to investigate the mechanisms that reproduce inequalities in arts labour, exploring how expectations placed on workers conflict with the sector’s equality and diversity aims.
Their professional experience includes previous work in peace campaigning organisations and at the national charity Sound and Music. Their community engagement includes volunteer work as a Trustee of the Article 11 Trust, and as a lead collaborator on UKRI-funded community arts and technology project, Pattern Club Sheffield.
As an artist they use the moniker Eye Measure, creating weird and dark computer music using live coding and algorithmic composition. They have performed at places such as Supernormal Festival, Cafe OTO, Flykingen, Corsica Studios, No Bounds Festival, and A MAZE festival.
